Christmas

Happy Holidays Everyone!!
Well the kids are on a 2 week break and I am looking foward to having some time with them. With working weekends and them in school we do not get to go on many day trips. I am looking foward to going to the zoo, doing crafts, sledding and all that. I will try to post some christmas pictures in the next day. We also have dodged the sant_ bullet again this year so we still have the fun of that for christmas morning. Soon enough I know that the jig will be up if you know what I mean:)

We also joined the computer elite in the past 2 weeks and joined facebook. For those of you not on yet it is a fun way to see and "talk" to people you have not been able to for a long time. It is also a way for high school classmates to post interesting and embarrasing pictures of you Yeah! If you do join or already are a member have someone send you an animal or tree for a farm. The farm is my favorite part but someone had to send you something so you can join the farm groupies.

I hope you are all enjoying the holiday season and snow as we are at my house. We went sledding last week and Megan is finally old enough to really enjoy it. It was such much fun seeing her having a good time with her brothers and going down the hill. I will try to write again soon, it is amazing how fast time flies!

Holidays!

So for those who know me well, yes I have my christmas decorations and lights up. I like to blame the kids and how excited they are for the holidays but I love it just as much as they do. Christmas was my Moms favorite holiday and it was always a special time for us. I will post a picture soon of the house. We are settled in and set up the train set in the storage room for the kids. The kids love the new house and have settled in nicely to the new house and routine.

Court is finding financial services is not the place to be looking for a job. He also has ruled out doing daycare in our home our children are enough fun for him:) So he may go back to school, we are just praying that he finds the right choice and is happy. Hope you are all getting ready for the holidays and enjoying the season too. I will write again soon and post pictures.

A Tribute to Maggie

As many of you know we lost our Shih Tzu Maggie a Sept 15th. Maggie went blind late this summer in one eye. She then lost the vision in her other eye a few weeks ago. We noticed she could not find us and startled when we came up to her. We took her to the vet and were told she had a brain tumor. We made the difficult decision to put her to sleep. It has been very hard not having her she was our first baby and almost 11 years old.

Moving has made it hard for me as I feel as I am leaving her behind. She was a great dog and we loved her very much. I still look for her everyday. Megan has had a hard time she is young enough to not understand why Maggie is not coming home. I still can not eat ice cream without looking for her to give her some it was as those of you who knew her, her favorite treat. We know she is with my Mom now and as Brian said "Grandma Banana can finally see Maggie" We love you Maggie xoxoxox

Pictures

Hi all I am going to post a few pictures. You will notice in one of the pictures Brian has a cast. We all thought Matthew would have the first broken bone of our children. Brian actually had someone at school fall on his thumb almost a month ago. He gets the cast off in a couple of days:)

Thanks for all the emails we are all doing well here and looking foward to chritmas. Come visit us soon at our new house we would love to see you all!!

Changes at the Glaus House

Ok so I know I have not written in awhile. For those of you with kids (and everyone who is busy) you know how you think I need to do that and next thing a month or 4 has gone by? Well someone who will remain nameless is supposed to upload pictures for me and has not. So I will hopefully post new pictures in a day or two.

So here is the scoop, we moved for the first time in 8 years. I do believe our stuff was breeding in the dark closets and corners of our house. For somone who has 2 large garage sales a year we had a LOT of stuff. We are renting a great house still in Hudson for a year or 2 until Court either finds a new job or finishes school. Then we plan to build on our own. We do not plan to actually do the work don't worry we just plan to be the contractors and hire the people schdule the build etc to get it done the way we want and save money.

So Court is still my "cute man slave" as I call him. Financial if anyone did not know is not the field to be looking for work in. That being said we thank God everyday that I am an RN and always have a good job and that we are all healthy, and fairly happy:)

The kids love the new house and see it all as a great adventure. Court and I like it too and have enjoyed the change you sometimes get tired of seeing your furniture and pictures in the same spots so when they are somewhere new they look new and fresh to you.

Our new address is 1817 Shasta Dr. Hudson WI 54016 same phone numbers 715-381-7095 and the kids are at the same school. So hopefully I will post pictures in the next few days. We moved on Oct 29th and then had a full halloween weekend. Nathan was a "land shark", Brian a killer whale, Matthew Nemo, and Megan a sparkle fish(or in her words "I a sparkley fishy") The pictures I will post of the scary couple are my brother Mike and his wife Jaime. They do halloween like no one else and we went to see them on Halloween it was great!!!

Surgery at the Glaus House

So it has been awhile since my last post. Summer is a crazy time at the Glaus House. The kids have had camp, we have been to the beach and just riding our bikes to the park. We also just went to como zoo as a family. For those of you not familiar como zoo is a zoo and an amusement park in one spot. Needless to say our kids love to go there. Those are the 2 pictures with the ride and Court with the kids, I am usually the one who brings the camera so I am not usually in the pictures I have noticed:)

On to new information, Court just had surgery hence the picture of him in the hospital.. He had a septoplasty, tonsillectomy and other nose help. Basically he can not breath or swallow without pain. He was never able to breathe thru his nose or smell well. His septum was deviated and he had polyps in his nose. His tonsills were also huge which is part of why sleeping with him required ear plugs and a noise machine.(no I am not kidding it was that bad) Hopefully when he heals it will all be better.

So far he is in pain , the surgery was on the 24th but doing ok. My Dad thank God for him, came up Wed so I could get Court from the hospital he stayed over night after the surgery. He then was nice enough to stay all day and help me with Court and wear out the kids see Grandpa as a pony picture. Thank you Dad I love you!!! So keep Court and the rest of us in your prayers. I am playing a nurse at work and at home.

My First Post:)

Hi everyone I am finally going to be a big girl and do a blog. I love reading my friends blogs, so I thought I would make one for our family. It is a good way to keep people up on what is happening at the Glaus House. This way I will not feel as bad when I forget to call my friends and share the latest news, because if they are bored they can check online:) So to fill you in on the latest news from our house.
We still are in Hudson WI in our home we built in 2000 I can not believe it has been 8 years! We would love to build again but the housing market is terrible and we could not sell if we wanted too. So we are deciding do we settle in and do more to the house like wood floors, repaint, etc or wait a few years and maybe build again.
On to the lights of my life. The kids are doing great. Nathan will be 9 in a few weeks. He is going to be in 3rd grade this fall at Prairie Elementary. He still loves trains and we are building a family train set in the basement (look for pictures later this summer). Nathan is in baseball this summer but his real love is basketball. He also reluctantly learned to ride his bike this week and now loves to ride. If you need tips to teach a fearful child to ride a 2 wheeler ask me. Brian is 7 and also loves dinos, trains and most of all killer whales. He will be in 2nd grade this fall. He also learned to ride his bike thanks to mom this week. (yes 3 days before Nathan). Matthew or "trouble" loves everything his brothers love he is 4 and 1/2. He is very funny, loving and delights in driving Brian crazy. He will be in prek this fall. Finally Miss Megan the princess is 2 years old already. She is the light of our house. Her brothers adore her and she loves to follow them around. She is my little princess and loves all things girly.
I am still at Hudson Hospital weekends and nights(so that is when you will see most of my posts:) I love nursing I work OB and ER. It is usually exciting and fun but the sleep deprivation thing leaves something to be desired. Court is in job limbo his company restructured at Easter and he is now looking for a new job. That has been hard for him, but the kids loving having more Daddy time and I can volunteer more with school, preschool and summer things.
We went to Disney with my Dad and Rita over spring break which was wonderful. We used our timeshare and stayed together and they were amazing and bought us all plane tickets (we were going to drive). It was a great trip and we enjoyed the time together soooo much. This summer we will not take any big trips just a few days to the Dells with my Auntie Polly and family and going to the beach, zoo etc. I will try to put a few pictures on this post I am still learning how. When I get the Disney pictures from Rita I will post them with a blog. Take care to all our friends and family I will write more soon.
